Hello, I am back!

I have had a very quite crafting time for the past few months. I in the autumn I went to a quilting class locally and had fun, so I made a quilt on my own using the same method as I had learnt.

3

All made from fabric that I had in my stash!

2

I do like the strip method, but I suppose I should try something else.

But then I have been cheating…

1

I have made four seat pads that have been stamped and then stitched with a zigzag to make them look quilted. There are great for extra seating or taking outside to add to garden chairs and can just be thrown in the washing machine.

Happy Easter

Woodware – Pop of Colour… Take 2

You may have noticed I love houses and house stamps, I really can’t get enough of them.

h

this stamp comes from a set designed by Nathalie Kalbach of N*Studio, in the box you will find a cling rubber stamp, a foam stamp, and a stencil/mask. the foam stamp is great for using with paint and it is eally 2 stamps in one, the plain back can be used as a solid stamp to put colour behind the image. The possibilities are endless for cards, scrapbooks and mixed media work.

d

My card is a 12 x 12 sheet folded in half, I love his size of card, but envelopes are not easy!

Here I have stamped the Urban Scribble twice, I don’t think that you can see the join. I have used the ColorBox Licorice Dye Ink Pad.

g

I made two masks for the images, and stamped them with the Dylusions number stamp from the Basic Backgrounds cling rubber set.

f

Here you can see the mask on half of the image. (sometimes I get so interested in what I am doing that I forget to take photographs)

e

The words are also from the Dylusions range, this one comes from Laugh ’til You Leak. These words are perfect for art journals and scrapbook pages! But or a card to send I felt it had to be changed, and I know that I have done this before.

b

I then stamped it twice on black card, I stamped in white and embossed with clear powder.

c

My pop of colour was done with Dylusions paint and I have deliberately made it rather scribbly.

I love my card, but it was a surprise to see that Nat has used the stamps in an art journal page on her blog yesterday so pop over and see what the artist has created in her post My Art Journal Today, but don’t judge me to harshly!

The Time of Mellow Fruitfulness

On Woodware Witterings this week we have a theme of Mellow Fruitfulness. At this time of year the birds all seem to be busy, which is what I was thinking about when I started off on this project, so I got out the birds…

12

I have finished up with an A4 journal page. I couldn’t find my journal so I have used the Woodware Mixed Media card which I will attach to my journal.

1

I have used my Dylusions paint, in Tangerine Dream and Postbox Red. I used the ColorBox Blending tool and then wiped it over with a Woodware Wipe to blend it all really well.

2

Then I stenciled on the blended page

4

I just started off with the same colours as the page, so that it is tone on tone.

6

Then I added some green, I just left the stencil messy so that the green mixed with the red ink and it gave me a darker green than the paint that I had Cut Grass. Dylusions have new soft greens that are really lovely, but I don’t have them yet!

13

I have used the Mixed Media Artist Nathalie Kalbach’s  3 Piece Bird Set. The stencil is part of the set. I have inked the stamp with Pomegranate Seed Dylusions Paint.

14

The White Linen bird is the foam stamp from the set.

9

I have used Jane’s Dorothy Clear Magic Stamp for the sun with Lemon Zest paint, and used my white Sakura Gelly Roll to out line the birds. I then decided that I didn’t like it!

15

So I stamped another bird this time in the Tangerine paint.

8

The words are stamped in white linen paint they come from two of the Dylusions stamp sets Laugh ’til You Leak and Don’t Hold Back.

12

I rather like my autumnal page, I hope that you like it too.

Thanks for visiting and don’t forget to check what the rest of the team come up with on Woodware Witterings.

Woodware – Floral Free For All

This week on the Woodware blog we are looking at flowers,

19

I have made some girlie bunting, but I have used Chippies for my bunting, I think that this would be good for a 21st birthday.

9

I have used the Handbag Chippies and stamped them with Jane’s Clear Magic Ranunculus then water coloured them with inks.

8

These two have been stamped with the Stampendous Perfectly Clear Fronds set.

1

The 21 is the number chippies and I have

4

Coloured them with Mixed Media pigment ink in Wisteria and then Frantaged them with a mix of Chunky White powder and a selection of bits from my mix jar, with extra shaved ice!

3

I stamped the Ranunculus on card die cut with the fitted frame dies. then coloured with the wisteria pad.

5

once I had finished I decided that the background had to be darker so that the numbers stood out so I coloured it all with a stencil brush.

21

I think that it looks effective layered on the green card.

8

I have edged all of the handbags with green ink.

22

The hardest part of the project was getting the ribbon to be the same length between the bags!

20

I have used a touch of double sided tape and jump ring I also knotted the ribbon so that it would not go through the jump ring.

Woodware and Crafty Cardmakers – 1, 2, 3.

Woodware are once again sponsoring and playing along with Crafty Cardmakers

CraftyCardMakers2016Header

The theme for the week is – 1 2 3

that is one stamped image, 2 papers and 3 different embellishments

here is my 1, 2, 3, card

1

Because I usually do much more minimal cards, I found this a really tricky challenge

For my 1 image I have used Relax a Clear Magic stamp designed by Francoise.

2

I stamped it three times (hope that is okay for one image), I have used Lettuce, Moss and Ruby Red embossing powders. The card is textured Textura Card Stock available in black and white. I liked the way that it has not stamped perfectly.

3

I chopped them up and added colour with a Dreamweaver stencil brush.

6

My 2 papers are both from the Perfect Prints 6 x 6 pad Rouge

5

So then we have 3 different embellishments. First I have Frantaged a Jumbo Frame Brad I have attached it to a scalloped oval punched shape. Embellishment number 2 is the dotty ribbon

4

My 3rd embellishment is a Chippie Hearts and Flourishes I have Frantaged this too, but this time in an electric frying pan! I got my electric frying pan after a trip to Samuel Taylors in Leeds with Fran from Stampendous, it is the first time that I have played with it, but I have a video from Fran that will introduce you to the possibilities…

Well next time I will be more adventurous with my hot pan!

Thanks for visiting and don’t forget to check the rest of the Woodware teams 1, 2, 3. and join in the challenge on Crafty Cardmakers, you still have a week to play along.

Woodware Wearable Art

This week on the Woodware blog we are looking at Wearable art, lucky for me we have just re-introduced a product that I really like Style Stones

1

they are perfect for lots of mixed media projects, and are great for wearing.

3

They are made from cultured stone, they are either natural, white or coated which makes them cream. They can be coloured with inks, paint, alcohol inks, or heat embossed… the possibilities are endless. Her I have used gold Color Solutions Alcohol inks.

5

I have stamped on the plain side the stamp is Francoise’s Clear Magic Old Letter using Crafter’s ink.

7

I have used Aged Copper Frantage Embossing Powder on the words and around the edges.

6

the necklace can be worn on either side.

10

this one has been inked with Crafter’s Barn and then Frantaged.

9

with a plain back.

2

The Frantage, is just a mix that I have.

8

this one has an interesting back.

Candi Flowers – inspired by Crafty Debs

A couple of week ago Crafty Debs made some Card Candi Flowers that I was fascinated by, Kim also had me intrigued that week and I posted my flowers last week so here are my Card Candi Flowers

4

They wer fun to make and a definitely one for in front of the TV.

1

punch a Green size circle, it has to be trimmed when you are finished, but if you use the smaller circle you don’t have anything to hold on to (yes I tried). I have folded up a pile of Card Candi

6

blob some silicon glue on your circle

8

then arrange the Candi

9

place a Candi in the centre

2

Then add glitter to disguise the extra silicon.

DSCF7470

I have used the flowers on a Clear Scraps tag. The back has been decorated with Color Solutions Alcohol Inks.

The Candi and Paper are Time Flies The Happy Travels stamp is a Just Words Clear Magic.
